Our Invitation to Practitioners:

We are happy to announce that Jeff Haller will come to New York City this June to teach an advanced training for Feldenkrais® practitioners.  The workshop will last 5-days and will be held at Barnard College on the upper west side of Manhattan.  (see below)

Over the past six years we have had the pleasure of traveling to the pacific northwest to study with Jeff many times. We are thrilled that more of our east coast colleagues now have the opportunity to share this learning experience with us.

Studying with Jeff and working with his materials has helped us transform our self-organization and make it useful for our clients. We’ve grown more solid and efficient in our understanding of movement and the arts of ATM and FI, and we’ve never felt stronger in our ability to ask questions and communicate our work to clients.

Jeff offers an especially clear and coherent interpretation of the Feldenkrais Method®.  He teaches principles of movement and self-organization that provide you with specific criteria and a practical path towards greater competency in this work.

In each training, Jeff has continued to refine and clarify his teaching to an extraordinary degree, uncovering the hidden meanings in Dr. Feldenkrais’ work.  In his demonstrations, his ability to speak about biological fitness and efficiency, and his encouragement and calm presence, Jeff’s students find greater specificity, support and creativity in how they sense, move and educate their clients.

In addition to this advanced training, Jeff will also return to begin a mentoring program in New York this fall. The June advanced training will serve as one of the prerequisites for joining the mentoring program.  For more information about the Fall mentoring program, please visit the mentoring page.   Below is the description for the upcoming June training.

We hope you will join us.  Please help us spread the word by sharing this announcement with your friends and colleagues who might like to attend.

Learning Self Organization Again and Again and Again...

Years ago, I began my investigations into the inner workings of the Feldenkrais Method® and the biological principles that are foundational to the work. One of my first investigations was into Moshe’s statement from the San Francisco Training where he said he could lift a person’s head without changing the tone in his arms. There was a great deal for me to put together before I could accomplish it myself, much less teach others how to attain that degree of self-organization when working with clients.

I have taught self-organization many times to students in training programs and advanced trainings and each program has lead to a further refinement of the process. For those of you who have worked with me in the past, not only will you have a chance to review what you learned, but continue to refine and improve what you know. Those, who are new to working with me you will discover how to:

  • Support yourself and work with proportional, equal distribution of tone.
  • Improve your ability to listen to what your client communicates when you touch them.
  • Improve the quality of your touch.
  • Give higher quality Functional Integration® lessons.
  • Improve your comfort while working.
  • Take what you have learned in ATM on the floor into active upright movement.
