Andrew Gibbons, MM, GCFP is known for his skill at teaching people a more precise functional performance, deeper self awareness and how to stay safe and strong in life's activities. As an experienced Feldenkrais teacher, he is sought out by clients ranging from world class musicians, professional athletes, and people with persistent issues of chronic muscular and joint pain, injury, stiffness, balance and neurological conditions. From 2006–2010 he was the Creative Director of the Feldenkrais Institute of NY, where he maintained his private practice, created and developed curriculum, and taught workshops and weekly classes for the public.
He has presented The Feldenkrais Method in a Tech Talk at Google's Manhattan offices, the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan, the Doctoral PT program of SUNY Stoneybrook Medical School, for musicians in the Manhattan School of Music's wellness program and in other public programs sponsored by the NY Department for the Aging. He has also worked as an ergonomic consultant for The New York Times and on the faculty of Physical Therapy & Feldenkrais NYC.
In addition to being a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner (GCFP) Andrew is a trained classical pianist and holds degrees from Columbia University and the Manhattan School of Music. Since 2008, Andrew has taught the Feldenkrais Method® for the prestigious Marlboro Music Festival in Marlboro, VT where he has worked with some of the world's top classical musicians who come together for a summer of intense chamber music, professional collaboration and public concerts.
